WATCH: MTV Unplugged Is Back With Lorde And Carly Rae Jepsen

After 17 long years off the air, last week MTV revived their acoustic performance series MTV Unplugged. The new season kicked off with a set from teenage crooner Shawn Mendes, and this week it was pop mastermind Jack Antonoff in the spotlight.

After working through hits from his band BleachersAntonoff called up frequent collaborators (and pop GOATs) Lorde and Carly Rae Jepsen to help out on a few songs.

Jepsen joined Antonoff for ‘Shadow’ from Bleachers’ 2004 debut Strange Desires, while Lorde sat at the piano to sing ‘Don’t Take The Money’, which she and Antonoff wrote together.

To top it all off, all three then all got together for an acoustic version of ‘Hate That You Know Me’, with Jepsen and Lorde bouncing around as back-up vocalists.

All artists have worked together closely over the years. Antonoff was the main producer behind Lorde’s recent hit Melodrama, and he collaborated with Jepsen on her 2012 hit ‘Sweetie’. He’s also reportedly working with Jepsen on her upcoming album, the followup to the critically acclaimed EMOTION.
