When you have children, how do you explain the circus that is the US presidential elections?
That’s what Colin Farrell talked about when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday.
The Irish actor has a seven-year-old son called Henry, who lives in New York with his mother Alicja Bachleda-Curús. Farrell explained to Ellen that his son has been closely watching the election.
“He’s kind of a little bit over it now. He just wants to know why everyone’s being so mean to each other,” he said.
Trying to interpret Trump’s speeches and sound bites can be hard at the best of times but when his comments to Billy Bush about grabbing women “by the pu**y” were leaked, Farrell has to figure out a way to explain it to his very attentive son.
“I’ve had to explain to him why Trump keeps on being mean to kittens,” Farrell told Ellen. “He just keeps grabbing those kittens.”
“He wasn’t a huge fan of [Donald] Trump initially,” he said. “A little bit because of his hair… and now he can’t stand Trump because, I had to explain to him why Trump keeps being mean to kittens.
