A tumbleweed known as “hairy panic” has engulfed a town in rural Australia, leaving frustrated residents struggling to access their homes and cars.
The native tumbleweed is a regular summer phenomenon in the town of Wangaratta, in the state of Victoria, but arrived in abundance in recent days due to the dry weather conditions and strong winds.
It is believed that much of it originated in a paddock that was left untended by a local farmer.
